Food: Baskin-Robbins

Baskin-Robbins is an American chain of ice cream and cake specialty shops founded in 1945. It is American BUT Baskin-Robbins in Korea are completely different from the ones in America, and frankly in my opinion, way better!

Korean Baskin-Robbins have unique flavors with equally unique names. Their most iconic flavors are “Mom is an Alien (엄마는 외계인)” and “Shooting Star (슈팅스타)”.

The first time I had “Shooting Star,” I was so shocked because there’s candy like pop rocks inside! But surprisingly it worked well with ice cream! My all time favorite though is “Almond Bong-Bong (알몬드 봉봉)”! Vanilla ice cream with chocolate drizzle and chocolate covered almonds~ (First picture above, ice cream on the left).

They also sell ice cream cakes and they are really cute! One thing I love about their cakes is that one ice cream cake can come with different flavors! It’s perfect to try different flavors or cater the cake to your personal tastes.

One absolutely amazing thing about Korean Baskin-Robbins is that they provide insulated to-go bags and dry ice so your ice cream stays frozen! Just tell them how long your commute is and they’ll put in the right amount of dry ice so you no longer have to worry about your ice cream melting!

Check out the Baskin-Robbins Korea website and check out all the cool flavors they have! They have a Flavor of the Month and October’s is “Papa & Daughter (아빠는 딸바봉)”~

And if you’re ever in Korea, I definitely recommend finding a Baskin-Robbins and trying some ice cream~ (There’s even one in Incheon Airport!)
